Families on the Farm

I often have the opportunity to get out of the studio and create portraits in the great outdoors. This family wanted me to re-create an "angel" portrait that my wife had done a couple of years earlier. We settled on the same location, Honeysuckle Hills, and proceeded to create a portrait with Mom and her own angel, Ava. Ava and I hit it off in a big way, as we had just done a fun session at the studio. I knew she would be the perfect model and she was!

I truly believe in angels, not so much winged cherubs floating by on clouds and playing harps, but real people that God sends across your path just when He knows you need a little lift.

Thank you, Ava

You just gotta get to know them!

Sometimes looks are deceiving. Billy came to my studio as a favor to me. I had met him through a mutual friend and found his looks and his demeanor to be in stark contrast. Billy is about 6 foot, 4 inches of muscle, hair and piercings. He is a dark, imposing hulk of a man.

Billy brought his young daughter with him to the studio. There was this amazing sight of a giant of a man, long dark curly hair, braided beard and piercings too numerous to count, with his arm gently around this precious child, this Love of his life.

Yes, look deeper for things are not always as they seem. I photograph the way I see.
